That’s Doubtful

Doubt is the root of all insecurity.

One second you’re so sure that the world is yours for the taking and then you start thinking, your mind swirling through emotions that are no longer truly yours but truthfully those of some insecure monster that’s overtaken you.

You doubt yourself.

You doubt the way you look. Surely someone must think you’re hideous and just not have the courtesy to inform you.

You start to doubt your self-worth. You completed the project that your boss entrusted in you, but how soon before you lose that job that took you forever to attain.

You doubt others.

You doubt that anyone could possibly love you for the person that you are.

Then slowly, slowly you’ve reached the bottom of this happiness drain and there’s no where left to go. So slowly, slowly you refill your sanity cup until it’s overflowing.

But that only means that the doubt will soon swoop back in to drink it up.
