Pretty sweet lessons learned

I’d like to take this time to welcome myself back to the single world. It was a nice run but returning to the real world after a taste of romance is exactly what a girl needs to stay grounded.

I’ve learned several minor but important things since Thursday. The difficult task will be remembering these lessons before my heart can get ahead of my brain in the future.

Me - conquering the world

Here they are:

1. Men can’t appreciate a good relationship.

- I’m going to take an educated guess and say that he got scared off by his own feelings and couldn’t handle the distance. Silly me, as an older guy I assumed he was mature enough to appreciate what I have to offer. I was wrong but I’m not stupid. It’s his loss.

2. Men think about sex every three minutes.

- A male friend relayed this tidbit to me last night. I would’ve guessed every five minutes. If three minutes is the actual timing then can someone PLEASE explain to me how men get anything done each day?

3. Men also assume that women don’t think like that.

- They’re very, very wrong. Has anyone met my red-headed friend? She is absolute proof that women are not the soft-spoken creatures of yore.

4. Men wants to have sex with every “decent looking girl” they see.

- And they don’t care about the “whole package” (personality, looks, brains) like women do.

5. My grandfather loves my blog and thinks I curse like a sailor.

  1. This points are all stereotypical nonsense, of course. Well, except #5. That’s so true.

  2. Also, I can’t spell “these,” apparently.

I must’ve been thinking about sex when I typed that!

  3. The supporting evidence for #3 is strong, though.

  4. Excellent blog all around. You have quite a knack for writing.

  5. I’m going to have to agree with Brandon. All of those things you listed are stereotypical. Women have come up with those just to give themselves some kind of confidence in the understanding of men.. but it’s not all true. I’ll admit to #2 and #4.. Yes I think about sex probably 100 times a day.. and for every guy who thinks about sex that much.. there’s a girl who does the same, and I’m sure every time you see a cute guy.. you’re not thinking to yourself “oh I wonder if he likes to read”, you’re thinking about what he looks like with his shirt off, or how big his junk is. Whenever you meet someone for the first time.. the first thoughts that always go through your head have to do with sex.. not the whole package.

    • sounds like a personal problem
